THE HOLY HOTEL---EL HOTEL SAGRADO. copyright Carlos de la Parra.

It was great to be back in Vegas, but due to high season my favorite hotel accomodations were all out of vacancies,so I drove to one of the outer areas in the city of eternal light, and found a beautiful temple like structure with a celestial type logo in neon, with clouds and angels that claimed the name "The Holy Hotel".In no time it was certain that the facilities consisted of a religious themed hotel;due to the presence of valet parking attendants dressed in monastic robes, and other staff donning angelic costumes, and a variety of outfits which denoted clothes of religious representations of every possible kind. The place was run by a rabbi.
So the bellboy dressed as a cherub, escorted me down the hallway to the Christian wing, where my suite was located, all along the way there were incense bearers softly swinging their aromatic devices, real great idea to make it smell so good ,I thought.
My quarters in themselves were reminiscent of a renaissance chapel, and I enjoyed the sweet hymn that played on the sound system anticipating a great night's sleep;I tipped the bellboy twenty, following that great advice that indicates that when you get to Vegas always make the first tip a good one,a fifty even better, and all the staff from then on will strive to give you the greatest quality of service.
I had almost gone into a dream when I heard some screaming apparently coming from the next door patio;so I jumped out of bed and looked down the balcony into the neighboring patio;where. to my horror a man was being crucified.Right then and there I knew I should have stayed in the buddhist area.

de preciosa arquitectura,con apariencia de templo,cuyas luces de neón dibujaban ángeles y nubes y ostentaban el letrero "El Hotel Sagrado",me pareció por demás simpático;y muy Las Vegas;

California Leaders Turn To Washington For Budget Help

It is ultimately shocking that the city of San Francisco, perhaps the greatest and most loved city in the world for it's beauty, finds itself short of cash.Instead of skinning people for parking in the downtown area, they should build a highly needed network of reasonable cost parking system, promote a pool of facilities for the movie industry, and find out who the heck stole the sea lions, start by checking on every ship that was around the area. They could also start trends of production to end the unemployment, increase ties with neighboring Sonoma county to promote the wine industry, afford more security in the streets and open it all night long to make the city a big productive place instead of trying to live on borrowed from Washington.I could go on and on,but I'm certain there are a lot of qualified people already in place who can get the show going.By the way the secure the streets and bring the country back to life applies to the entire U.S.A. Just think of the millions of jobs. Why doesn't somebody get things moving,NOW.

When one of Nero's best friends arrived at his party;the emperor welcomed him ,and asked him to taste the lamb that had been prepared in a great sauce. The guest carefully declined so as not to cross the mighty ruler,by explaining that he had just been at another celebration where he had overeaten, but would most gladly taste the great dishes in a couple of hours:but Nero would not accept this and asked him to go to the vomitorium to rid himself of the previous meal, and come back and taste the delicious variety his cooks had prepared.Since this request was practically an order, the guest dutifully obeyed, and as he entered the luxurious place to vomit into the marble pool surrounded by columns to grab onto as you puked,he proceeded to throw up;but to his great surprise another friend surfaced out of the yellowish liquid, vomiting yet more to add into the blend.
Nero's guest came back and told him that the other celebrator was so drunk, that he had jumped into the vomitorium because he confused it with the swimming pool;and this amused the emperor so much that he shit all over his royal robes.
